As part of a multi-year ambience upgrade capital works programme at Macarthur Square Shopping Centre, Lee & Co delivered a series of staged retail enhancement projects aimed at elevating customer experience, improving amenity, and refreshing key precincts across the asset.
The first stage focused on the revitalisation of the “Purple Entry”, including an upgraded children’s playground, refreshed planter boxes, and new external furniture to create a more inviting and family-friendly entry experience.
The second stage involved the centre court escalator upgrade, which included the removal and repositioning of existing escalators, the demolition and reconstruction of escalator pits, and structural modifications to the Level 1 slab. These works were complemented with bronze mirror feature cladding and a bespoke LED artwork installation to the underside of the escalators.
The third stage delivered a full travellator upgrade, including complete travellator replacement, new ceilings, a lighting upgrade, and timber feature cladding to enhance the architectural quality of the circulation spine.
All works were carefully delivered within a live, fully operational shopping centre, requiring detailed staging, strict safety and access management, and close coordination with centre management and tenants to minimise disruption.
