Commercial Office Extension, 5th Floor Addition – Rebel Property

This project involved a major vertical expansion of an existing four-storey commercial office building through the addition of a new fifth floor comprising 1,100 sqm of GFA. The works also included the extension of the existing lift shaft and the replacement of one of the building’s two lifts.

Situated on a boundary-to-boundary site, the project required innovative construction methodology. Delivered within a 9-month construction programme, the extension was completed without the use of a tower crane, made possible through detailed temporary works planning and strategic use of the proposed permanent structure to manage materials handling and construction sequencing. The new level was constructed as a structural steel addition built over the existing structural steel frame, with all works performed without lifting or removing the existing roof.

All works were undertaken while the building remained fully operational with tenants in place, requiring careful staging, strict safety protocols, and ongoing coordination to minimise disruption.
